Tourism educators approached me in 1994 when they heard I was delivering leading edge tourism education based on newly developed national occupational standards and learning centred learning based on real job simulations.

I was a tourism professional for over twenty years, working as a travel agent, tour operator, tour guide and tour director. I pioneered national tourism standards, certification, and training programs in Canada and Australia. I have worked with Canadian Institute of Travel Counsellors, British Columbia Automobile Association, Malaspina University College, Canadian Tourism Human Resource Council, Vancouver Island School for Travel Agents, Australian Business College, Tourism British Columbia, Camosun College, Canadian Academy of Travel and Tourism, National Academy Foundation, International Society for Travel and Tourism Educators and hundreds of tourism educators around the world.
